Dad and Isaac have been working on organizing the tool shed.
Isaac has been working hard, painting the basketball lines on the court.
“Auntie” Mercy is the teacher for the toddler class (2-4 year olds). There are right now 7 students. She comes 6 days a week, 8am-5pm. She is a fantastic teacher, she cares, loves and is passionate about them gettting a good start to their early education. One thing we love is the affirmation these children get and give to one another. They are encouraged to all clap and praise the other child whom just answered a question or when completing a task.
So one of the songs we all sing in the class when someone does something well. Is WELL DONE- WELL DONE… (say the name of the child) Robbie, a VERY GOOD ROBBIE- Keep it up ROBBIE, You ARE A SUPERSTAR- YOU ARE THE BEST!! So this song is sung often in the morning class to these little children. If there is not time for that song, or to change it up a bit as the morning progresses, they will say…. a nice one (then you clap), and a another one (then you clap), and a heavy one (clap, clap, clap)
The teacher and any of us who are serving are right down on the floor with them, encouraging, listening and helping. They refer to us as “Auntie” and “Uncles” as a title of respect instead of Mr. and Mrs., its very sweet.
We brought these Straw Connectors from the U.S. for them to use in their classes. They are learning their shapes and colors with these builiding straws.
Oh my gosh great job Isaac doing the basket ball lines!
